Wow, what a great week at camp!  We sincerely thank you for all of your hard work.  You should be very proud of all of the goals we accomplished this week; however, you should also understand that we have many more yet to achieve. 
The rehearsal schedule for the next 2 weeks is included below, and please note the small change for Wednesday, August 18.  Attendance is expected, so please take care of any conflicts now. 

Monday, August 9 - 8:30am-12:30pm (Music Booster meeting at 7:00pm)
Tuesday, August 10 - 8:30am-12:30pm
Wednesday, August 11 - 8:30am-2:30pm (Bring a sack lunch!)  

Monday, August 16 - 8:30am-12:30pm (Pictures will be taken at 1:00pm)
Tuesday, August 17 - 8:30am-12:30pm
Wednesday, August 18 - 8:30am-2:30 (Bring a sack lunch, but may end at 12:30 if we are ahead of schedule)
 
Monday, August 23 - First Day of School Friday,
August 27 - Football Game vs. Highland  

**Music Boosters**  Meeting on Monday, August 9 at 7:00pm in the Band Room.  Please plan on attending!  We sincerely value your input!  
**Picture Day** Monday, August 16 @ 1:00pm.  Pictures will be taken in your Fall Band Uniform.  Coats and Pants have been fitted, but you will also need tall black socks, black MTX marching shoes, black and white gloves for all wind players (shoes and gloves that were ordered will be in by picture day), and a black tshirt to wear underneath the uniform.  
**Ohio University Band Day** This exciting event is scheduled for Saturday, September 4, more detailed information will be coming.  Please send in any more ticket order forms on Monday, August 9!

We hope everyone is enjoying the Knox County Fair!  Get some rest this weekend because OUR big week is just ahead...  :)  Here are a few reminders about the 2010 Fredericktown HS Band Camp.
 
1.  ALL paperwork/payments MUST be turned in on Sunday, August 1.  (Especially medical forms!)  Mrs. O will be set up at a table to accept last minute paperwork and any payments. Several students have not paid for their new polo band shirt.
 
2.  Please make sure that your summer band uniform is ready to go by Friday, August 6 for the Marching Band Preview at 6:00pm.  The summer uniform includes:  new band Polo shirt (these will be delivered before the band preview), all black mesh shorts (again, any that were ordered will be delivered), white ankle socks and all white tennis shoes.
 
3.  We are finalizing any Freddie Wear orders.  These include:  Band polo shirts, Tour shirts (tshirts, long sleeved tshirts, crew sweatshirts, hoodies), black mesh shorts, black shirts to be worn under the fall uniform, gloves, and black marching band shoes.  If anyone needs to add to their order, please reply to this email and we will get it added to the order.  Please bring any additional payments for these items to the band room on Sunday.
 
4.  There have been a couple changes to our evening activites at camp.  We've included the daily themes and the altered evening activites.
Monday - Favorite Band T-shirt Day
Tuesday - Twin Day
Wednesday - Hippie Day
Thursday - Favorite Sport Team Day
Friday - School Spirit Day
 
Sunday evening:  Camp Theme Activities
Monday evening:  Band "Social" - (The camp cannot provide us with the opportunity to have a swim party).
Tuesday evening:  Skit night
Wednesday evening:  Movie night
Thursday evening:  Welcome to our new members!
 
Please plan ahead and prepare as needed!  We guarantee there will be lots of fun memories!
 
5.  We are still in need of some parents to volunteer as band camp chaperons.  Again, please respond if you are willing to help.
 
And finally, there will NOT be rehearsal on Thursday, August 12 as was previously scheduled.  We added this day of rehearsal before we found out that both Mr. Smith and Mrs. Overholt will be at teacher workshops this day.  Therefore, both weeks after camp there will be rehearsals Monday through Wednesday from 8:30am-12:30pm.

This is one of our newest and easiest fundraisers we are participating in.  All we need you to do is take 3 minutes to fill out a form on Kroger's website and then do some grocery shopping for your family.  By shopping at Kroger's and using your Kroger card, a portion of that purchase will be donated automatically to the band program.  Please follow the directions listed in the fundraiser section of our website.  Thank for taking time to participate in this very easy fundraiser.

Picture Day
   Pictures are scheduled for Aug 16 @1pm.  This picture will be in full winter uniform and more details will be covered later.

OU Band Day
   We have officially been accepted to travel and perform at the Ohio University Band Day down in Athens, Ohio on September 4.  For those of you that don't know, the Ohio University Marching 110 is a very accomplished and exciting show style band.  We as the FHS marching band are going to be doing some new things this year that are closely related to the style that the Marching 110 so accurately displays. Band Day is at a regular football game and many many high schools come from all over to watch and perform with the Marching 110.
   Along with this performance opportunity comes a fund raising opportunity.  Our boosters can purchase as many tickets as we would like through Ohio University Atheletics and sell them for $15 each. $15 is cheep for a college football game!  We need some form of count to know how many tickets to purchase.  Tell your friends, family, neighbors, community, and anyone that you think might like to go watch the Fredericktown High School Marching Band perform in Peden Stadium with a lot of great bands.  We need a ticket count ASAP, so please email your name and the number of tickets you think you can sell to fredtownbands@gmail.com

Paperwork and Dues
   Just another friendly reminder that paperwork and payments are now past due.  All payments (including money for binders, polos, band camp, etc.) must be submitted no later than the arrival for band camp.

Summer Uniform and Band Camp Preview
  This year we will be doing a FHS Marching Band preview at the end of band camp for anyone that would like to attend.  The preview will be at 6:00pm on the Friday (Aug. 6) that we return from camp.  Parents/family can start arriving around 4:30 to help their student get loaded and ready to go home.  At 5:30 we will need all students (and only students) in the band room to warm up and prepare for the performance.  At6:00pm there will be a preview performance of everything we worked on at band camp.
  For this performance we will be wearing the new summer uniforms which have now been ordered and look great!  Another reminder that each student must have a pair of solid white tennis shoes to go along with their summer uniform this year. They will receive their new polo at band camp, but they must have their white shoes, ankle-high white socks, and black mesh shorts ready before band camp.
